Yes, there has been a “rebrand” (gag me) — away from “the labyrinth” (a devotional, mystical symbol I use to help me write my loooooooooong projects) and toward “loosely gooselike” which feels more connected to my energy as a poet-filmmaker-researcher-astrologer who makes things but only if I get into physical, mental, and emotional flow. So, here we are: all the same, same, but different.
this week’s astrological transits, 3 of Pentacles, and a (film)bibliomancy

June 4: Venus in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini
June 5: Venus enters Taurus
June 5: Mercury in Gemini sextile Mars in Leo

the memo
So little has “made sense” lately, right? At this point, staying in the present moment feels like a mythical state of being we talk about but have only really read about in books. How can we stay in the moment when there’s no way we’ll be able to "catch up" on what has happened in recent years?
But, now, it feels like it doesn’t matter so much, right? To catch up?
Finally, something tangible is coming from all of this unfocused momentum. Something we can run our fingers along. Something that was designed by our very natures is coming back around to comfort us in its perfect timing.
The words you use to describe your days start to line up. You notice a crow noticing you back. It’s okay that you don’t know exactly which direction to face. The sun will show you where to gallop toward.
movement practice
video evidence that I moved my body before attempting to write this week.

“reading with a pencil”
I’m reading a bunch of books on walking, labyrinths, embodied liturgies, and yogic philosophy right now. This week, I feel *especially thirty-five years old* because I’ve been bird watching and reading essays about the pleasures (and not-so-pleasures) of walking, and so grateful to live into the peace-finding years.
“Reading with a pencil” (or felt tipped purple marker) is one of the personal habits I want to cultivate more of this year, along with making sure I move my body before I attempt to use my mind, and so herein lies proof to myself that I am annotating with care.

the windows are open; the neighbor is playing music so loud it fills the neighborhood; to me this is pleasant; I am washing dishes and listening to this song layered on top of her 90s hits (if you squint your ears a bit, it could sound like he’s singing “it’s time to giddy up”):
this procedural from Chani toward emotional clarity:
Grace Vargason’s process videos and art is just… so beautiful. I feel evoked. My loins feel summoned.
field journal
hello self—at first I typed “hell self” and so now I speak to you from hell, or towards hell—lately most meals are making me feel bloated or sick or instantly more tired, so I considered not feeding my body for one meal time each day, but forget when the time comes around to do so. I like that. The forgetting to withhold from myself. But would also appreciate an override button whenever I needed it. Is this thought connected?: horses have been coming up everywhere lately. On book covers, in shadow work sessions, referenced in TikTok posts, collaging a lady in red on top of a particularly special horse, metaphors chosen in deep, emotional conversations to illustrate something words could never. I worry I may be becoming a horse girl. But it’s about time, no? Giddy up. (?)
