My background: I have been writing marketing copy for 15+ years at the same time as producing commercials, feature films, and TV shows. In 2023, I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University, and I am currently querying a strange-shaped novel about a 71 year old woman who finds herself in a love triangle with a pink flash that might be an alien and a man who is not Oscar Isaac.

I am currently a critical thinking and writing professor at Lakeland University and freelance as a ghostwriter while offering my services as an astrologer and parts work coach. In 2026, I am opening up my books again as a Book Doula once a couple of my clients’ manuscripts wrap up (sad to see them go, but SO HAPPY their books are alive and kicking!).

As a researcher, my areas of study usually stick in the realm of cognitive psychology as it relates to creativity, medieval literature, mystical texts, land management, body-mind connection, subconscious mind studies, and mutual aid in the digital age.

My work: www.kpkazsu.com

This is a place for writing that resists ultra-legible writing. I search for writing that’s a little strange, a little prairie-like. Writing that asks you to LOOK ALIVE!

The name “loosely gooselike” is an autocorrect mistake (from “loosey goosey,” typed hastily while trying to make plans). It stayed with me. It felt like a creature, like a way of being. Flexible, fluid, a little silly.

I concern myself with very loooooooooong projects. And, also, I want to “be like water” while in the process on them.

What You’ll Find Here

90% of what I publish is free. The rest — the more *precarious* pieces — live behind a $5/month paywall. Everything I share is part of a long, slow body of work. Your support helps keep this space alive.

🔭 Forecasts

I write poem-memo astrological forecasts to help us feel the mood of the week. The sky maps the tone — and that tuning into it can help us move with more grace and less burnout.

Paid subscribers also receive:

  • rising sign horoscopes with bumper-rail advice for the week ahead

  • the occasional astrology essay on form, myth, or the art of interpretation

📝 Writing Process & Creative Practice

I share essays on the craft and life of writing — often with prompts that zap us out of daze-mode and back into the pleasure of making.

I also run:

  • seasonal experimental writing calls for paid subscribers (timed writing, inspo-sharing, early drafts — open to all mediums as long as yr down-to-clown)

🎬 Long-form Projects

Here you’ll get behind-the-scenes peeks at the screenplays, novels, essays, and research projects I’m working on. Some recent ones:

  • A medieval eco-justice war novel

  • A cubist biopic of a figure who haunts me

  • A lyric essay collection on land and the body

These updates are paywalled not to gatekeep, but to protect their in-process nature.

🎙️ POST MORTEM

A seasonal-ish video podcast where I talk with long-form writers about how they brought their book or film into being — from first spark to final form. It’s nerdy and encouraging and often surprising.
