This week has within it a Venus cazimi in Gemini and New Moon in Gemini. As Venus comes into the “heart of the sun” (cazimi)1, she receives a sun-kissing, a cleansing ray, an energizing boost back into the conscious part of the collective that kicks off a new period in her cycle. Before the cazimi, she was the Evening Star. And, after this week, she will be a Morning Star for ~9 months.
This week is a reset for what we value;
what we want to practice and grow;
what we want more of;
what we choose to care for and about.
In the sign of Gemini, we evaluate what language we want to use to show others what we care about. Venus cazimi in Gemini wants us to be clear on who we want in our communities or which communities we want to participate in. What discourse do you want to grace your presence with? In which discourse do you want to find your people?
Venus’ cycle looks like a 5-petaled bloom, as she dances inside and outside of the Earth with her path. The moon’s cycle looks like an infinity loop. It’s smoother and has a visible slope.
So this Venusian cycle is not quite like the lunar cycle – a cycle with a new moon, first quarter moon, full moon, and last quarter moon where something is set off in the beginning and culminates to a type of “fever pitch” with the full moon. The lunar cycle operates at the 4th Harmonic or as a type of base-4 system. But, with Venus, we experience the 5th Harmonic2. The effect is more of overlapping lessons that build upon one another, slowly, over time. To me, this feels like scholarship. In school, there is less of a clear beginning, rise, presentation, and integration. In school, we are experiencing lessons, projects, research, examinations – all at once. And every new skill or understanding builds upon one another. And, absolutely, the experience of learning in community deepens our learning process.
I’ve been teaching the last 3 years in very different settings. Transferring between these environments comes with its own challenges and joys, but it’s always people in a shared space with a common goal. And what has been so strikingly true about each environment is that, if the participants or students feel comfortable enough to discuss, disagree, and elaborate on ideas with each other, they will learn at a greater rate than if they were just listening to me tell them what I think to be true. When the classroom community is engaged and dynamic, millions of new possibilities and permutations open up. Doesn’t this feel like the energetics of Gemini? Learning, language, immediate community.
And so I’m thinking about this Venus cazimi in Gemini as registration day. The day where you wake up before 7am in order to enroll in that one class you really, really, really, really want to take. Because you need it in order to graduate. But, also, because your soul needs to be in that room learning with that group of people. [Is this an experience that you, dear reader, have had? Or am I particularly lustful in this niche?]
It’s likely this “class” is in line with what you’ve already been studying. But, this class will help you gain greater understanding of what you value. It’s also likely that this class is a part of a series of classes you need in order to build the whole picture. You’re not taking a 101 but you’re also not yet at the Capstone or Dissertation part of your scholarship.
Venus cazimi in Gemini Horoscopes
Where the cazimi occurs in your birth chart could give you a greater understanding of what type of study you want to begin in this cycle or these cycles (9 months [Venus cazimi in Aries, March 2025], 18 months [Venus cazimi in Capricorn, January 2026], 4 years [Venus cazimi in Gemini, June 2028]).
But before you read the messages below, I encourage you to pause, breathe deeply in, exhale with an audible sigh, and do a gut check for yourself.
Ask yourself these questions:
What do I want to dive into for this next season?
What do I feel the need to learn about right now?
If life is a series of courses, what do I want to study the most right now?
For those who use the Whole Sign House System, look for your Rising sign’s horoscope. For other house systems, find which house 14 degrees Gemini is in your birth chart and read for that house’s horoscope.
Gemini Rising / 1st House:
Have you written a personal manifesto before? One of my teachers in this lifetime,
teaches how writing one’s own personal manifesto shapes our day-to-day lives, giving meaning to the onslaught of input we receive all the time. This Venus cazimi asks you to organize your belief systems — to organize yourself with language — how language is the ultimate act of organization. Your coursework this cycle is to actively declare what you claim to be true, and to write down the process of how you choose what is worth while.Write your manifesto and set creative, positive boundaries for what you want your life to look like. Declare what you are focusing on in this lifetime. What you keep in your manifesto acts as a spell for what will expand for you. As well, your manifesto will ward off what you do not want to experience.
And don’t just write the manifesto. Share it. Wear it. Act in line with your manifesto like a daily checklist.
Cancer Rising / 12th House:
Recently, I read a newsletter from The Heart Revival where the word “yoga” was translated into “intimacy” — the source of this translation being from Michael Stone. This Venus cazimi in Gemini is in your 12th House, a house full of complicated and sometimes contradictory concepts. What stands out to me right now is the conflict between the body, the spirit, and the mind. These parts of us want to be united. They want to be in intimacy with each other. But the path to getting to this place of intimacy is difficult. There are no “naturals” in this world at gaining this intimacy.
Two paths come to mind. First is the path of how we speak to ourselves. The tone of voice in which you address yourself is not static. You can practice speaking to yourself gently and with understanding. You must practice speaking to yourself with the love you want to feel from others. Your subconscious mind asks you to choose your language wisely, and apply the Golden Rule to yourself as well as others.
The second path is that of sangha — of a spiritual community built through love and support of one another’s journey toward mind-body-spirit intimacy. Maybe your sangha looks like a climate grief support group. Maybe it looks like moon circles. Maybe it is showing up to meditate and do yoga at your community studio. Whatever it looks like: go there. Go there often and find yourself amongst others. Retreat with others.
Leo Rising / 11th House:
Who supports your greatest ambitions? Whose dreams do you support? This cycle asks you to throw your whole self into your social support system — that mycelial network of lovers, doers, dreamers, and inspirers. Entrench yourself into the collective efforts of the people you care about. Lend yourself to their ideas of a better world. Join the Cause — offer your enthusiasm and joy to what will alleviate the pains and sorrows of your people. Expand the definition of “your people.”
How good does it feel to help someone else’s dreams come true? It is your task to find out just how good you can make that feel. You are being called to expand your networks. To reach beyond the immediate community and into the global. If you cannot physically be everywhere at once, how can you participate in the discourse of the world at large?
Maybe this looks like attending conferences. Maybe it looks like attending festivals — virtual and in person. Maybe it looks like volunteering for disaster relief in your state. Maybe you can be a part of the coral reef restoration efforts.
Whatever it is, bring your joy and shine it on others.
Virgo Rising / 10th House:
In which ways can you practice effort? Better yet, how can you practice effort in a public setting? Effort is a skill that takes time to build up. And effort, when shared with the external world, magnifies the more it is offered. This Venus cazimi in Gemini is asking you to establish or re-establish the ways in which you add your effort to the world.
It may support you to start small — what is the most microscopic way to practice putting your effort toward something? I am thinking of someone who offers themselves as a caregiver in their daily life. Every day, this person is actively effort-ing toward the wellness of others. But your Venusian “coursework” isn’t necessarily to amp it up at work. Your coursework might look like participating in a local gym’s weight lifting group sessions. Or you might build up the muscle of “effort-ing” by joining a book club people who discuss open heartedly about a work of speculative fiction each month.
What is key to the Venus cazimi in Gemini taking place in your 10th House: you must practice being seen, perceived, enjoyed, and active. Venus wants you to practice putting yourself “out there.” Often. And with the people you most want to be a part of.
Libra Rising / 9th House:
What do you believe to be true that you cannot prove? What is your relationship to self-trust? What meaning making systems do you employ? How do you know if an idea is worth pursuing?
This Venusian cycle asks you to leap. To run and jump. To choose a direction and just go. It will make sense as you move along the path. But, right now, nothing has to “make sense.” You know which way to start. So, go. Grab what you need to go on the journey for as long as you can. When you get to what you seek, you will know you’ve found it. Trust you will know when to stop and start again.
Venus wants you to follow the breadcrumbs of language. Has someone said something to you recently that piqued your interest? That’s your “coursework.” Whatever that phrase or quote was: you will find out the source of this information, though you may not know how, when, or where just yet.
And, in the end, you will have developed your ability to believe and trust. And this is exactly what Venus wants you to focus on right now.
Scorpio Rising / 8th House:
What language do you give what you can not perceive? What do you sense that cannot be proven? Have you spoken with the intangible parts of yourself?
This Venusian cycle wants you to go deeper — to give names to what is inside your psyche — to explore what you cannot touch, smell, or taste. I think about the third person that is created between two people in a relationship. This person doesn’t “exist” but is there. This person is shaped like shared memories, attachments, wounds, joys. And when one person in the relationship tends to the health of this “third person,” all three rise. How can you speak with these shared entities so that they feel supported, loved, and cared for?
Maybe this tending looks like morning pages. Maybe it looks like working with a psychotherapist. Maybe it looks like issuing “quiet time” with your lover before bedtime — no phones, no talking, just being together in silence. Maybe it looks like combining the creation of physical art with channeling intuitive information. Whatever your “coursework” looks like, give attention to what is difficult to sense. And see what language emerges.
Sagittarius Rising / 7th House:
This horoscope for you, Dear Sagittarius Rising, is going to be incredibly prescriptive. Don’t heed my instructions. Or do. I feel strongly that you will benefit from this, though.
A couple years ago I attended a community organizing training over two Saturdays. What I learned in those two days has shaped much of how I see the world now, and I am grateful to it. I won’t write at length about everything, though. I want to focus on Relational Meetings. This Venusian cycle, I want you to experience 300 (or more) relational meetings. This can be in 9 months, 18 months, or 4 years. 300 meetings with people with the main goal of discovering shared goals, interests, or motivations. These meetings are meant to build collective power.
You will find that you have met with dozens of people who are all concerned about or affected by the same issue. And you will find that you can be a part of the solution of these issues — just by connecting with people in short, focused meetings (coffee dates or walk-and-talks!). This Venusian cycle is asking you to connect with individuals in order to sense what the collective needs.
As well, this Venusian cycle wants you to stumble upon your mentor. In these relational meetings, you will find the person you wanted to know sooner. But you will know them now and they will guide you closer to yourself. And it will be very good.
Capricorn Rising / 6th House:
When you tend to yourself, you tend to the world. But you do not have to tend to yourself alone. What groups of people help you feel better? Who makes you feel better when you help them feel better?
This Venusian cycle wants you to build up your pace — but not necessarily by speed. She wants you to study how much energy you have the more you use your energy. She wants you to learn what foods taste good as well as make you feel good. She wants you to fuel yourself often, with people you enjoy too.
I am thinking about pleasure as a vehicle for health and wellness. I am thinking about how fun it is to laugh with friends and coworkers and how this absolutely affects one’s good health. Might the “coursework” this cycle also be to infuse your daily life with jokes in order to feel better? Maybe feeling better requires an emphasis on pranks, side quests, and inside jokes? Maybe your wellness depends on lightening up? Maybe your health will improve by wearing a silly little hat?
Pleasure, laughter, and little hats fuel you. They help you pick up the pace, and keep it up. Making your meals taste good as make your meals nourish you better. Venus wants you to be laughing, okay? As often as you can.
Aquarius Rising / 5th House:
My dears, it’s time you kept a sketchbook. Apply this concept to any creating medium that you want. But maybe I mean it literally: start and keep a sketchbook. Draw what you ate this morning. Paint your dog’s face as she sleeps in the sun. Sketch a caricature of that person who pissed you off yesterday. Keep a sketchbook — record what you notice every day.
You are not allowed to paint directly on the canvas. This is the season of creating for creating’s sake. Spend your time doodling and see how beautiful it feels to be a live. Over time, you won’t need the sketchbook to feel wonderful in your life. But you’ll still keep drawing in it because it just feels so good to do so. You’ll want to walk people through your sketchbook because it’s become one of the most beautiful records of how you lived your life. Your life will become an art piece.
Your “coursework” in this Venusian cycle is to make things that have no other purpose than to be made. You are meant to focus on practicing your status as a Creator Being. You will make garlands of paper birds. You will make children. You will make poems. You will make. And you will tell people about it.
Pisces Rising / 4th House:
Are you prepared for your greatest desire? What do you need to know in order to be well prepared for what you are aiming for in your lifetime? The “coursework” for you right now has to do with building your foundational knowledge. I encourage you to interview your neighborhood experts — the people who know more than you right now and who have created a sturdy base for which they wish to grow in this lifetime.
I am thinking of anxiety as a type of imagination, or as an expression of our imaginations. And how anxiety can be transmuted into preparedness. What are you most anxious of right now? What do you feel is most at risk for falling apart? Use your imagination to seek out ways to reinforce your protections. Do not be afraid to ask for support as you welcome more security into your life.
Aries Rising / 3rd House:
Get out of the house. Walk around. Talk with the people who live in reachable distance from your physical self. The “coursework” for you this cycle is to become a part of your immediate environment. Maybe you’ve been observing your surroundings but not really participating in them.
Ask people for their names. Sit in the park with your neighbors. Practice speaking with people who are not like you. How best do you do this? Ask questions. In this season, you will become excellent at asking questions.
You will learn what type of questions make people feel loved. You will know which questions make people feel intruded upon. But you can’t know this until you keep trying — to ask the Perfect Question. And you will know that the Perfect Question helps someone open up parts of themselves that they hadn’t thought about in a long while.
And it will be so good you will begin to ask yourself questions that will open up the universes inside yourself, too. And then you will know how to talk about anything — because you’ve practiced asking strangers how they are the way that they are.
Taurus Rising / 2nd House:
Do you have a place to put all that information you consume? Do you have a commonplace book or another type of information gathering and sorting system? Does this system help you integrate all the knowledge amassed? And does your system allow for you to release information that you don’t need anymore?
Venus cazimi in Gemini in your 2nd House asks you to become more involved in how you gather, use, and release details. It’s not enough just to bring new ideas in, you must also use the idea. You must handle and form the idea into a Thing Of Your Own.
Maybe your Venusian “coursework” is to translate what you learn into short pieces of writings that you share widely. Maybe it looks more like practicing the drums instead of watching hours of how-to videos online about drumming. Maybe it sounds like you learning all the skills needed to build a shed instead of researching where to find the most affordable pre-fab shed online. And then… building it yourself.
Whatever Venus wants you to focus on during this cycle, you must create systems that are manageable — and I highly suggest looking into the concept of the Second Brain. (Personally, Notion has changed my life in this regard.) And, Venus needs you to become the one with the skills and not just the voyeur of those who are skilled.
She may even be asking you to be the one who learns the skills in order to teach them to others.

For diving more deeply into the Venusian cycle:
When referring to cazimi, astrologers often speak of a planet being in the heart of the sun. This poetic parlance is actually a reflection of the word's origin, derived from the Arabic term kaṣmīmi, which means “as if in the heart.” —Well+Good
The concept of the 5th Harmonic as it pertains to the 5-petaled path of Venus comes directly from Arielle Guttman — to whom I am grateful for this concept.
